Some important comments for OIRF Affiliates about Bio-Photon Light Therapy
I returned from a 1995 trip to Germany with great news for those who took my previous advice to temporarily hold off purchasing our former Bio-Photon Light Therapy unit. A respected German firm has developed a third generation model (pictured on main BioPhoton web page), which is simply a much better deal for the same money. Why? Because it is at least twice as effective as the previous Danish model we made available to inner circle Research Associates.
Those who have visited the Institute and seen our Bio-Photon Therapy installation, or heard me talk about it at workshops, know the Danish one I’ve been using was so powerful that it initially scared the heck out of me – and I have seen a lot in my many years in this field. Well, I spent a day at the German firm that makes this new model, and truly felt I was in a doctor’s office on a Star Trek spaceship. It works like nothing I have seen before! (While I was there they were shipping an order of one hundred special “hair and scalp units” for an Austrian firm, that rents them on a metered usage basis to leading beauticians and cosmetologists.)
Their powerful medical model is called the Bio-Photon HPT 3D Hyper-red. It is essentially a large area “laser” unit with 128 very special LED’s mounted in a curved panel that is optimized for treatment of all body surfaces. These 128 photon beams are in the hyper-red spectrum at 660 nanometers, with an effective power of 8 to 10 milliwatts each. This intensive energetic stimulation is further supported through modulation over a polyfrequency range or by the brain active frequencies in the relaxing alpha range (and endorphin releasing super-delta).
The panel is held in any desired therapy position by the adjustable arm of either a rolling floor stand or wall-mounted base. All controls are incorporated into this curved therapy panel. An automatic timer turns off at the end of the recommended standard therapy time of 512 seconds [8:32 minutes], after an acoustic tone signals the end of that session. It is extremely simple to operate (no training courses needed!) and Bio-Photon therapy can be readily delegated.
The size and shape of the Bio-Photon HPT 3D Hyper-red unit allows for optimal, complete and simultaneous treatment of a large surface area, namely about sixty-four square inches. This intensive biostimulation over a large area leads to astounding therapy successes in a very short time. The design of the therapy panel together with the special adjustable arm assures complete and comfortable therapy of all parts of the body. As a result, a treatment of the entire body can be carried out in just seventeen or so minutes.
Because the therapy panel is curved and all beams are emitted perpendicular to that curvature, a three dimensional (3D) effect is realized for maximum penetration depth. Perpendicular contact on almost any surface of the body results in minimal reflective loss. Maximum concentration or intensity is at about 16 cm (approx. 6 inches) distance. As a result, joint and bone disorders can be treated successfully. Even organs that do not lie too deep can be reached and treated. The treatment produces no heat, and therefore in cases where long-term therapy might be necessary there is no thermal burdening of the tissue. Thus longer orthopedic and dermatologic applications are equally feasible with this unit.
There’s more! This new unit has a special input for delivery of medication information to the patient (from medications in a standard honeycomb connected via a cable) by means of amplitude modulation of the photon beams. There is also an optional connection for inputting music, tones and frequencies from a cassette or CD player, which again modulate the light beams correspondingly. The combination of bio-photon light therapy modulated by specifically designed music and sounds – simultaneously heard by the patient through earphones – greatly enhances the effectiveness, and helps keep the patient from getting bored during the session. This latter option also allows for induction of stimulative programs on cassettes, such as “Super-Learning”.

Although the standard medical model offers excellent results with aspects such
as acne, face, hair, scalp, scars and skin, if
you also want really spectacular cosmetic treatments including cellulite,
a Bio-Photon HPT 3D Standard model is available at an additional
cost. In this unit, half of the 128 hyper-red photon beams
are replaced by true laser diodes at the 785 nanometer infrared spectrum, with an effective power of 8 milliwatts.
Operating simultaneously, this unit then has sixty-four beams each in the hyper-red
Bio-Photon and infrared laser
spectrums, which is an optimal
compromise between heavy-duty medical, psychological, and lucrative
cosmetic indications. This is the model I would buy for myself if I wanted to
cover the full range of biological practice possibilities.

“Photons, as the ‘quanta’ of electromagnetic radiation, are in effect the smallest known particles of light. Bio-photons are coherent ultra fine emissions from the cells of living biological entities (not bioluminescence!), serving intra- and intercellular communication and regulation, with DNA as their fundamental source. The name most associated with the field of Bio-Photon research is the German physicist Fritz-Albert Popp, especially known for his discovery of the Bio-Photon mechanism of cell communication. It is only natural then, that the very latest developments in German biological medicine should involve the practical application of Bio-Photon research in both therapy and diagnosis.
The powerful biophoton light therapy instrument we are now recommending here at the Institute represents the first such product on the German market. This therapy modality was so new at that time, that no appropriate category existed for it under the German equivalent to our F.D.A., and as a result it essentially had to be marketed there for cosmetic use, rather than as an actual medical instrument. Thus, its full therapeutic range (that is, what indications it was best suited for) had not even been explored in Germany. [Now it is fully ISO 13485, European medical, CMDCAS and CE certified). From European users – mainly dermatologists and other practitioners interested in it primarily for its cosmetic indications – we already know it offers an optimal solution for skin and hair problems.
Biophoton light therapy has also shown itself effective in pain reduction, immunological disorders and exhaustion states, but that is about all that had been published then regarding its medical indications, as these were secondary effects discovered by existing owners. New medical indications for this modality are being reported almost daily, from users expanding beyond the cosmetic realm. Later that year the German firm was able to market this revolutionary instrument for its true purpose, namely as a medical device, and then we started getting a much better picture of its probable vast therapeutic scope. All Dr. Sturm would say about his own experience with at that time was that if cosmetologists for example get their hands on this equipment dermatologists will lose a lot of business to them. Of course he did not let too much more than that out, since we had a major presentation by this firm on our next [1990] group tour to Germany.
Oddly enough, importation into North America was and still remains problem free since existing categories are broad enough to encompass this type of equipment and its use as light therapy could well be legal and possibly even billable.”
