OXI-MED
For quick and easy measurement
of oxidative stress
-
Easy application by merely using capillary
blood
-
Assessment of the redox potential according
to the actual oxidative situation
in the blood
-
Comprehensive and informative evaluation
software
-
Low cost for consumables owing to a
unique redox measuring pipette
-
Measurements and evaluation in 60 seconds
-
Very useful for clinics and pharmacies
Oxidative Stress
Among other things, oxidative stress may be caused by:
- Environmental poisons (e.g. air-born toxins, heavy metals,
insecticides, herbicides)
- Preservative agents
- Stimulants (alcohol and tobacco)
- Metabolisation of various medications (e.g. antibiotics,
contraceptives)
- High performance sports (regeneration phase being too
short)
Oxidative stress may be augmenting
the risk of:
- Arteriosclerosis and coronary diseases of the heart
- Diabetes mellitus and its consequential diseases
- Neuro-degenerative diseases (e.g. Parkinson’s
and Alzheimer’s disease)
- Cancer and disorders of the immune system (e.g. M.E.)
- Early ageing
- Rheumatism
Free Radicals
Free radicals can damage the biochemical compounds
in the human organism and thus may be causing mutations
and malfunctions in the body cells
Typical antioxidants (“scavengers”)
against free radicals are:
- Vitamin A, C, and E
- Beta-Carotene
- Co-Enzyme Q10
- Flavonoids
- S-Acetylglutathions (SAG’s)
- Selenium, manganese, zinc
- Herbs, e.g. Ginkgo, Hawthorn, Colladeen, Pycnogenol
What is OXI-MED?
OXI-MED is a device for the measurement of the oxidative
situation in the blood as an indicator of oxidative stress
caused by an increased presence of free radicals.
The unit functions on the basis of the tried
and tested Bio-Electronic Terrain Analysis (BE-T-A) according
to Prof. L.C. Vincent which Med-Tronik established in the
market more than twenty-five years ago.
The matter-unspecified measurement is carried
out by determining the redox potential (in mV) in a tiny
drop (20 µl) of capillary blood. The results are available
within 60 seconds.
Your complete solution (included with
unit):
- Microprocessor-controlled
measuring device
- User friendly operation via foil keys
- Reference electrode
- Redox measuring pipettes
- Redox calibration fluid
- 3mol KCL fluid for storing and regeneration of reference
electrode
- PC evaluation software
