Monday, 22 February 2010

Dear Members, Colleagues and Friends of OIRF:

?    We have missed you. To date we have not received membership renewals from many of you at the new greatly reduced fees. Follow this link to print out an application form.  We could not continue this work without your very valued support and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

For 2010 members we attached the first issue of “The Bridge” for this year. There is an interesting article by Dr. Simon Yu on Medically Unexplained Symptoms plus a great article that I translated by Dr. Winfried Weber on Leaky Gut Syndrome. There is a short translated report from engineer Eduard Abrams about a study involving EAV and virtual test sets. You will also find the usual Practitioner Tips, WebWatch, announcements and news columns. This issue will be sent out to you as soon as your membership renewal has been received!

?    All plans and arrangements for the forthcoming Germany Tour #37 are underway. Note that the dates are firm – shifted by one day from previous years to accommodate the changed schedule of the Medicine Week Congress and thus you must arrive in Germany on Saturday, Oct. 30th.

As you know we have been invited to organize another official English language day during the Medicine Week Congress and we have invited a strong list of lecturers for that part of the program. Additionally, we have recently confirmed one of two main speakers. Prof. Dr. Roeland van Wijk, who works with Prof. Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp in the International Institute of Biophysics, will give us a private half day presentation on Biophotons in Diagnostics – Progress and Expectations. Invitations have also gone out to a huge Biological Medicine Clinic in Switzerland, a researcher/practitioner to give us a second private half day lecture, and a few instrumentation firms. This will be a very exciting and informative program with ample time to visit the stands at Med-Week and enjoy a bit of the atmosphere of Baden-Baden and Germany.

The dates are set and the tour program will run from Saturday, October 30 through Friday, November 5, 2010. Watch for details in the next Issues of your newsletter and on our website at Germany Tour. Make your plans to attend now, and join us for our 37th (!!) Biological Medicine Tour program to Germany.

?    The Biological Medicine Symposium 2010 is really happening – on June 18-20, 2010! We have again attached details about this amazing conference for your easier reference. The line up of speakers is set, a beautiful and convenient hotel venue has been reserved and we are all looking forward to seeing you at this important meeting.

Based on our concepts of education, cooperation and information, we have arranged for you to hear an incredible roster of international researchers, practitioners and lecturers. As keynote speakers you will hear from Dr. med. Richard Krassnigg (President of the German Medical EAV Society) and from Dr. med. Manfred Doepp (executive member of the German Society for Energy and Information Medicine). Add to that twelve (that’s 12!) more leading experts in this field, plus eight (8) international exhibitors and you can see we are offering you one of the most authoritative and respected programs ever presented in North America. Normally this kind of program could only be arranged in Germany or near the Medicine Week Congress!

We expected to confirm between five and eight feature lecturers for the remainder of this program. Guess what? We have ended up with such an incredible lineup of lecturers that it has been impossible to say no to any of them. You can see the current lineup in the attached information, but suffice it to say you will hear from well known practitioners, experts and scientists from the USA, Canada, Australia, Austria, Germany, Italy and the UK. Personally I cannot quite yet picture how we will fit them all in – but that is logistics and we will get it worked out shortly.

This will be THE event in Biological Medicine for 2010. Click here for full details Symposium. Be sure to call Elaine and get your registration in early to take advantage of the fee discounts (and to ensure your place at this important symposium as space is definitely limited!).

?    Briefly and trying not to belabor the issue, exchange rates against the Euro have stayed relatively stable again in the past month. US rates are high and the Canadian Dollar remains near par with the US. It means that we have been able to lower our Canadian Dollar prices on most instrumentation, although US prices are considerably higher than they were as recently as last fall.

All this really boils down to is that it remains a good time to purchase German/European instrumentation. Deliveries have been running smoothly and without any customs or shipping difficulties. A few of the items featured in this issue of “The Bridge” are being offered at a small further member’s discount as a special until March 31, 2010. Be sure to contact Elaine or Carolyn for price lists or quotes.

?    But now I have some very sad news. As a subscriber (for all of their 18 years), an advertiser, a contributor and a supporter, I recently received a very nice but disheartening letter from Mrs. Chrystyne Jackson of Explore Publications. It reads in part:
“In January 2010 I sent you a copy of “Special Issue” of Volume 19, Issue #1.
Regretfully I am unable to continue publishing Explore for the Professional at this time.
Thank you again for your continuous support in making a difference in our field of medicine and energy, for helping Explore to spread the word of these alternatives to everyone.”

This has been a very difficult few years for all of us working in this field. The Institute’s crisis came last summer and fall, and we are still working strongly to reduce our carbon and economic footprints. Many of the suppliers, publishers and organizations in this field are struggling not to grow but just to survive. Our sincere and heartfelt best wishes go out to Mrs. Jackson and all the staff at Explore during this most difficult time. They are hoping to make Explore available by subscription in an online version in the late spring. Let us all try to support this much needed publication!

And a chuckle: YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2010 when . . .
1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.
2 You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.
7 Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.
8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.
10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.
11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile : )
12 You're reading this and nodding and laughing.
13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.
14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.
15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list
AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.

Until next time . . . CLWS
