Thursday, 22 April 2010

Dear Members, Colleagues and Friends of OIRF:

?    Many of you have not yet sent us your membership renewal. An application form is available on line, and you can call or e-mail Elaine with your payment information. We could not continue this work without your very valued support, and we look forward to hearing from you again shortly.

For members we attached the second issue of “The Bridge” for 2010. Included in it are two interesting articles by Dr. Brian MacCoy on pH imbalances plus a great article that I translated by Dr. med. Manfred Doepp on Segmental Diagnostic Findings. You will also find the usual Practitioner Tips, Points of Interest, Announcements and Activities columns. Enjoy!

?    The buzz is on! The Biological Medicine Symposium 2010 takes place June 18-20, 2010 in beautiful Vancouver, BC Canada! We have again attached details about this amazing conference for your easier reference. The line up of speakers is set, a beautiful and convenient hotel venue has been reserved and we are all looking forward to seeing you at this important meeting.

Based on our concepts of education, cooperation and information, we have arranged for you to hear an incredible roster of international researchers, practitioners and lecturers. As keynote speakers you will hear from Dr. med. Richard Krassnigg (President of the German Medical EAV Society) and from Dr. med. Manfred Doepp (executive member of the German Society for Energy and Information Medicine). Add to that thirteen (yes, it has grown to 13!) leading experts in this field, plus eight (8) international exhibitors and you can see we are offering you one of the most authoritative and respected programs ever presented in North America. Normally this kind of program could only be arranged in Germany or near the Medicine Week Congress!

Due to a change in his busy schedule, Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt is now able to participate in this program and his lecture will give us information on Autism Therapy. The full schedule of lectures and events will be posted on the website within the next few days.

This will be THE event in Biological Medicine for 2010. Be sure to call Elaine and get your registration in early before registration discounts end May 15 (and to ensure your place at this important symposium as space is definitely limited!).

?    All plans and arrangements for the forthcoming Germany Tour #37 are “in place”. Note that the dates are firm – shifted by one day from previous years to accommodate the changed schedule of the Medicine Week Congress and thus you must arrive in Germany by Saturday, Oct. 30th.

Add to that twelve (that’s 12!) more leading experts in this field, plus eight (8) international exhibitors and you can see we are offering you one of the most authoritative and respected programs ever presented in North America. Normally this kind of program could only be arranged in Germany or near the Medicine Week Congress!

As you know we have been invited to organize another official English language day during the Medicine Week Congress and we have now confirmed a strong list of eight lecturers for that part of the program including Dr. med. Juliane Sacher (cancer and AIDS), Dr. med. Hans-Peter Friedrichsen (mitochondropathy) and Prof. Dr. Ivan Engler (Ionized Oxygen Therapy).

Additionally, we have confirmed two keynote speakers. Prof. Dr. Roeland van Wijk, who works with Prof. Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp in the International Institute of Biophysics, will give us a private half day presentation on Biophotons in Diagnostics – Progress and Expectations. Dr. med. Hendrik Treugut who is president of the prestigious German Society for Energy and Information Medicine, will give us a private half day presentation on Energy Medicine.

Combine this with visits to (and from) several unique instrumentation firms, a pharmaceutical firm and ample time to peruse the stands at the Med-Week and this becomes a very exciting and informative program with an opportunity to enjoy a bit of the atmosphere of Baden-Baden and Germany.

The dates are set and the tour program will run from Saturday, October 30 through Friday, November 5, 2010. Details will be sent out separately as an e-mail attachment and you can visit the Germany Tour page on our website. Make your plans to attend now, and join us for our 37th (!!) Biological Medicine Tour program to Germany.

?    For my regular remarks about exchange rates and instrumentation purchases – in short “Wow”! The Canadian and US dollars are virtually at par and the Euro has weakened quite dramatically. All instrumentation prices have been lowered to reflect this change. Most predictions are that this scenario will hold “for awhile”.

Please contact Elaine or Carolyn for current price lists and you can see from the items featured in Issue #2 that pricing has dropped considerably even since our February offers. I know that many of you are experiencing difficulties during these hard economic times – but these are the “tools of your trade” and with them you can immediately improve the efficacy of your current diagnostic and therapy methods.

At current prices, I recommend that you take the plunge now – for those items you have been “waiting” to order until . . . get the orders in now. I haven’t seen these kinds of prices in years and I can’t imagine they will last.

?    And now for some more good news. I recently advised you about the publication difficulties faced by Mrs. Chrystyne Jackson of Explore Publications. It now appears that they will be able to continue publishing this valuable journal – however like so many of us they will be turning to e-publishing. They will now publish 7 issues (instead of 6) per year, but 4 of them will be electronic only. Please support this journal by getting your subscription into Explore as quickly as possible.

This has been a very difficult few years for all of us working in this field. The Institute’s first crisis came last summer and fall, and we are still working strongly to reduce our carbon and economic footprints. Many of the suppliers, publishers and organizations in this field are struggling not to grow but just to survive. Our sincere and heartfelt best wishes go out to Mrs. Jackson and all the staff at Explore during this most difficult time.

And a chuckle: Have you forgiven your enemies?
Toward the end of the Sunday service, the Minister asked “How many of you have forgiven your enemies?”
About 80% of the parishioners held up their hands.
The Minister reprimanded his flock and suggested that they think about this over the coming week.
In the next Sunday service the Minister repeated his question.
All responded this time, except one small elderly lady.
“Mrs. Neely? Are you not willing to forgive your enemies?”
“I don’t have any.” She replied sweetly.
“Mrs. Neely, that is very unusual. How old are you?”
“Ninety-eight.” She replied.
“Oh Mrs. Neely, would you please come down in front and tell us all how a person can live ninety-eight years and not have an enemy in the world?”
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, faced the congregation and said:
”I’ve outlived them all.”

And, how many zeros in a billion?
This is too true to be funny.
The next time you hear a politician use the Word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians' spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of its releases.
A.  A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B.  A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
C.  A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
D.  A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
E.  A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes at the rate our government is spending it.

Until next time . . . CLWS
